Morning: Drive to the boma
Pickup from your Arusha or Moshi hotel at 07:30 and drive one to two hours east to a boma on the Kilimanjaro plains, arriving to the traditional welcome dance.

Late morning: Boma tour and herbalist walk
Guided visit of the compound, the manyatta and the cattle enclosure, followed by a 45-minute walk with the local herbalist through the surrounding bush.

Midday: Lunch with the family
Home-cooked Maasai meal shared with the elders and their children under an acacia tree.

Afternoon: Ceremonies, crafts and departure
Time with the warrior age-group, watch a fire being drilled, visit the women's bead-work market, and return to Arusha or Moshi by 17:30.
