Morning: Ngongongare gate & Momella drive
Pickup from your Arusha hotel at 06:30. Drive to Ngongongare gate, enter the park and drive through the rainforest to the Momella Lakes for flamingos, giraffe and hippo.

Late morning: Walking safari on Meru
Meet your armed ranger and set off on a two- to three-hour walk through open glades on the flanks of Meru. Reading tracks, plants and small wildlife.

Midday: Picnic lunch at the lakes
Full picnic lunch at a viewpoint over the Momella Lakes with hippo, flamingo and buffalo below.

Afternoon: Ngurdoto Crater rim
Game drive along the northern rim of the Ngurdoto Crater, stopping at each viewpoint over the crater floor.
