5-Day Tanzania Mid-Season Safari

Day 1: Arusha → Tarangire
Pickup from Arusha after breakfast, then the two-hour drive to Tarangire National Park. Full-day game drive with picnic lunch, elephants on the river, baobab country, and the highest bird-species count of any single Tanzanian park (550+). Overnight at a tented camp on the southern boundary.

Day 2: Tarangire → Serengeti
Cross the Rift Valley escarpment and the Ngorongoro highlands, descending to Naabi Hill gate where the Serengeti opens up. Long game drive into Seronera with picnic lunch, the first afternoon is often productive because predators are still active after the cool morning.

Day 3: Full day Serengeti
Optional balloon safari at dawn. Long morning game drive in the Seronera circuit, lunch at camp, afternoon drive towards the central kopjes. The middle day in the Serengeti is consistently the most productive, your guide can dedicate the full day to following a specific sighting rather than driving towards the next overnight.

Day 4: Serengeti → Ngorongoro rim
Final morning game drive in the Serengeti, then the long transfer east to the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Sunset cocktails at the rim viewpoint before dinner at the lodge.

Day 5: Crater descent → Arusha
Early breakfast and descent into the caldera. Roughly six hours of game-viewing on the floor with picnic lunch at the Ngoitokitok pool. Ascend in the early afternoon and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.
