4-Day Gombe Chimpanzee Safari

Day 1: Arusha to Kigoma to Gombe
Morning scheduled flight from Arusha to Kigoma, roughly two hours. Transfer to Kibirizi harbour and continue by motor boat one hour north to the beach at Kasekela. Park briefing, lunch, orientation walk to the research station.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking (day 1)
Very early breakfast, then depart on foot with your guide and a JGI tracker. Trekking can range from thirty minutes to four hours depending on where the chimps have nested. One hour with the group once located. Return for lunch, afternoon at leisure or an optional forest walk.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking (day 2) and waterfalls
Second chimp trek at first light. Return to camp for brunch. Afternoon hike to the Kakombe Waterfalls with a swim at the base pool. Sundowner on the beach.

Day 4: Return to Kigoma and onward flight
Sunrise kayak or short walk. Boat back to Kigoma, where you are met and transferred to the Hilltop Hotel in Kigoma to freshen up before your scheduled flight onward to Arusha or Dar es Salaam.
