2-Day Tanzania Safari

Day 1: Arusha → Tarangire → Karatu
Morning pickup from your Arusha hotel after breakfast. The drive to Tarangire takes around two hours through Maasai grazing land. We enter the park late morning and spend the full day game-viewing, with a hot picnic lunch in the park. Tarangire's signature sightings are elephants in family groups, tree-climbing pythons in the dry season, and the unusual long-necked gerenuk. In the late afternoon we drive up to Karatu on the escarpment of the Rift Valley for dinner and a long, restorative night.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater → Arusha
An early breakfast, then a short transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area gate and the switchback descent road to the crater floor. We spend most of the day inside the caldera tracking lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, hyena, jackal, and, with luck, the elusive eastern black rhino. Picnic lunch is taken beside the Ngoitokitok pool with hippo and yellow-billed kites for company. By mid-afternoon we ascend the western road and begin the four-hour drive back to Arusha, arriving by early evening.
